Rib Misalignments/Upper Back Pain
Upper back pain may be caused by a number of things, including joint irritation, poor posture, or a misaligned rib. Both types of conditions can refer pain to other areas. Rib pain can travel around to the front of the chest and is aggravated by deep breaths.
Chiropractic:
Chiropractic adjustments restore motion to the joints, realigning them and relieving any discomfort. Interferential current may be used to reduce inflammation in the area.
Massage Therapy:
Massage therapy will help reduce inflammation and address tight muscles in the area.
Scoliosis:
When the spine twists or curves to one side, this called a scoliosis. Approximately 90% of the cases are of unknown origin. Scoliosis puts an excessive amount of pressure on the spine. Causes include pelvic imbalance, spasm of back muscles, a habitual unbalanced posture, or it can be congenital.
Chiropractic:
Chiropractic adjustments remove neurological interference, allowing the body to function optimally. Scoliosis is often accompanied by muscle stiffness. Soft tissue techniques are used to relax the muscles and increase the patient’s range of motion.
Massage Therapy:
Massage therapy decreases pain by increasing circulation to tight muscles, and by reducing trigger points. Massage additionally increases mobility of the spine, reduces muscle imbalances, and strengthens stretched structures.
